Meet Our Centre Director

Meet Hana Simes, Hessel Children’s Centre Director who leads our team of early childhood educators. With over 10 years’ experience working in the industry, she is passionately committed to supporting families and children to be the best they can be.

“I love the sense of community. Hessel is so much more than childcare – it is a family! It is an absolute privilege and joy to watch children learn, grow and develop while supporting their families in their parenting role. It takes a village to raise a child – and Hessel is proud to be part of that village.”

What’s a cheeky memory you have to share with us?

One of my little friends told me that they love me, but love me more when I wear make up!

What do you enjoy doing away from Hessel Children’s Centre?

I love cooking for my family, going out for brunch, reading, and a sunny winery afternoon!

Centre Staff

We cannot wait for you to meet our team of passionate, insipring and knowledgeable educators. Our team are dedicated to providing exceptional care and education for every child in a safe and dynamic environment.

Our educators are highly skilled and supported with ongoing development opportunities to ensure the best possible outcome for each child, each carrying a minimum Certificate III in Early Childhood Education & Care (CHC30121).

Each room has a Team Leader who holds a Diploma in Children’s Services or a Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood).

Hannah

Centre Administrator

Hannah joined Hessel Group before the opening of Hessel Children's Centre and was a key team member in ensuring our centre opened late in 2019 to the highest of standards, ready to greet our first families. With many skills and talents, Hannah is experienced in all areas of our business from being a welcoming face at our entry to creating early learning programs for all ages.

Megan

Assistant Director

Megan has a Bachelor of Education Studies and Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care. Megan is passionate about supporting the individual routines of babies and providing a calm, yet stimulating environment for our littlest learners. She loves finding new ways to support the development of babies and making her own unique learning resources. No two days are the same at Hessel Children's Centre and Megan loves that part of this industry. Away from our Centre, Megan enjoys spending time with her family.

Mel

Koala Educator

Mel has ten years experience in Early Childhood Education and is Diploma qualified. She is warm, nurturing and passionate about providing a sense of belonging for children and their families ensuring a smooth transition into care. Aside from the challenge of constantly cleaning at Hessel, Mel loves watching our children grow and develop. She's constantly amused when our children start talking and try to pronounce her name (it's Mel not Smell). She aspires to delve more into child psychology in the future and for now, enjoys taking her son to the beach and swimming pools.

Nina

Educational Leader

Nina holds a Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care and has 8 years experience in our industry. Nina embraces the Hessel philosophy of 'nurturing confidence' and draws inspiration from our vibrant centre director, Hana who deeply cares for our families and our team. Being part of a diverse team helps to support each other through any challenges with respect and positivity. Away from Hessel, Nina has a very active puppy she enjoys spending time with as well as playing puzzles like Sudoku and with a little one on the way - a little bit of nesting!

Renee

Possum Room Educator

Commencing at Hessel a week after we opened in 2019, Renee completed her Certificate III in Early Childhood Education & Care as a Year 12 VET student and has recently completed studying her Diploma as a workplace trainee. Renee is passionate about building secure relationships with children and families, and loves to set up inviting play spaces for the toddlers. Renee loves going on long beach walks, brunching with friends and spending time with family.

Tigi

Possum Room Educator

Everyone loves Tigi (children, parents and educators alike!) Tigi has many years experience in Early Childhood and is currently upskilling from her Certificate III to Diploma. Warm and nurturing, Tigi is our resident “toilet readiness” expert! She also loves planning exciting experiences to support children’s numeracy and literacy development.

Jess

Wombat Room Educator

Jess holds a Diploma in Early Childhood, Education and Care and has 9 years of experience in childcare. She is passionate about recognising each child as a unique learner and providing individualised experiences to support each child to reach their potential.

Jason

Lead Educator - Wombat Room

With 20 years of industry experience and a Diploma in Children's Services, Jason has built strong connections with our children and their families which he truly values. We are fortunate at Hessel as Jason's creative imagination can been seen throughout the centre with his creations used every day by our little learners. Away from Hessel, Jason spends quality time with his nieces and nephews and enjoys a challenging jigsaw puzzle.

Ebony

Kangaroo Room Educator

Ebony has worked in the industry for 4 years and has a Diploma in Children Services. She enjoys providing the children with a variety of activities including sensory play and science experiments. Ebony also runs a cooking activity once a week which our children are always excited for. You can also find Ebony playing chasey or hide and seek. Away from Hessel, Ebony has a skill for cake decorating, relaxing in front of the TV and spending precious time with her two young children.

Seena

Platypus Room Trainee

New to the Early Learning sector, Seena has commenced a traineeship which will support her to succeed in completing a Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care CHC30121. Seena draws inspiration from other team members and the children to create fun and stimulating activities that promotes engagement and learning. Away from our centre and her studies, Seena quietly enjoys a cup of tea and watching tv.

Laura

Koala Room Lead Educator

Our beautiful Laura has completed her Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care! Laura is one of our amazing Koala Room educators, and we love her as much as the babies do! She loves supporting babies in their individual routines and families in their parenting journey. She is warm, nurturing and brings a sense of peace and calm wherever she goes. She is also Mum to the adorable Evie and also just bought a house! Congratulations Laura on completing your qualification, buying your dream home and just for being all round awesome.
